Loved up

Hello Ladies!

As you know by now, I have a very short attention span. That is to say, I am filled with total enthusiasm for a new project and put everything into it, obsessively crafting away...for a while, and then I get bored and have to go off and do something else, returning to the original work feeling more refreshed. I am doing this with with the circle in squares blanket. I have done over 50 squares now but needed a break. It was a friend's birthday recently so I got out my felt stash (isn't felt fantastic!!!) and made this....

I made the hearts freehand, embroidered it and then just blanket stitched it all together. I don't think I've done blanket stitch since I was at school but I really enjoyed making this while watching TV one evening. I love the idea of being able to make something from what I already have stashed away. The beauty of felt is, of course, that it doesn't have to be hemmed and so is ideal for quick little makes. It also comes in gorgeous colours.

Don't forget to add your name on the previous post for the crochet roll giveaway.

Have a lovely, crafty weekend! xxx

  1. Thats lovely. Really nice such a fast and rewarding project.
    Have a nice weekend.

  2. Andrea, the felt heart is so sweet! Yes, felt is a dream to cut and sew, and sometimes you just need to make someting where you can see an end result quickly! Crochet is wonderful but you do need patience!
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Oh it's lovely! I love blanket stitch; it's so cozy and homey and also at the same time simple and classic. I love that combination. Thanks for stopping by and giving me some words of encouragement. There is a lot of pressure to always have fabulous things to show and with real life going on that just doesn't always happen. Thanks for reminding me.

  4. Gosh - and I thought it was just me...

Do you make several of the same thing before going on to something entirely new? I do!

But that's just what makes life interesting for me - and I often get inspired by what other people are doing... to make some hearts now!

  5. So lovely Andrea !

  10. I have to say I am a bit like you, I have a crocet blanket coming to the end but I keep putting it off and finding other things to do.I love your heart, felt is such fun to play with.

  11. Ooh, that's so cute! I am really loving the little felt goodies right now. I'm picturing them all over my christmas tree--only 9 1/2 months to go! :)
