Granny stripes

Inspired by Attic24, I made my first granny stripe blanket over the summer and was surprised how quick it was to make, despite being double bed size. I was also surprised at how soft it was. I usually use pure wool, but I have to say I am a convert to this Stylecraft Special DK yarn. This is how it turned out.....

I just loved the colours - they made me feel really happy.

I finished it with a simple picot edge.....

I love this blanket....unfortunately so did my sister, who promptly nabbed it! I started to make another one for myself and that was taken by Niece from South Africa. A third one is going to mum and a fourth to young Niece.....I hope I get to keep one for myself one day!!!!

  1. Funnily enough I was inspired by Lucy from Attic24 and have made two of these blankies, one for me (well that was the original plan - it has been adopted by my boys) and one I made as a commission (it felt rather grown up doing something for an order and getting paid for it)I was sad to part with that one after over 60 hours of work!
